Frühlingskabine Win!

Oh you guys, I may not show rabbits, but this is exciting. A kind customer sent me a picture of one of my rabbits who recently won Best of Breed at the Contra Costa County Fair rabbit show! It was even judged by the Vice President of ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association)!!! Pretty ribbons right? I may not show rabbits, but I am damn proud of Frühlingskabine’s Cotton Candy and her new owner Kaitlyn. Damn proud. I guess I am doing something right in my breeding program. 😉

  1. How badly does it suck to inspect your hive? We just brought one home, and it seems like it would be a good idea to know how everything looks, so we opened it up. Between the two of us, we had ten stings in a matter of maybe twenty seconds. Never made it as far as pulling out any frames. The bees were literally CHARGING at us. 😦 Is this normal??? Or would you call this an “aggressive” hive?

    • It shouldn’t be THAT bad. If you just brought the hive home, I bet you just disturbed them too soon. You should give them a good 1-2 weeks to settle in before doing a hive inspection. One month would be even better. Try again in a month and just give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

  2. Congratulations to Kaitlyn (and to to Sarah) for Cotton Candy’s win! She is beautiful. I too am a proud owner of a Fruhlingskabine Angora, who I love very much. He too is handsome.

  3. Congrats to both you on winning. one to be breeding a good off spring, and to the new owner in raising the rabbit to show great!!!!!!! Mare
