Eighty-one Ounces of Gold

Today we harvested and bottled six jars totaling 81 ounces or 5.06 pounds or a little over 1 quart of honey from one and a half frames. We have about four more frames to harvest next weekend. Thanks bees!

    • We don’t really have that much. The pictures may make them look big, but these are small jam jars less than 4″ tall. There won’t be enough to sell at farmers markets…. just a few to get us through until next year and a couple extra for family and friends. It has been a dry year for honey for many beekeepers in the area. But we’re happy to get this much!

  1. Yeah baby! How wonderful to get so much from just two combs! Enough for you and would make a great Christmas gift. Five pounds of honey is crazy! I just went in and picked up a five pound bag of flour…I can’t imagine how cool it must be to get that much honey from your little bees! Amazing!
